What if ?????

To get rid of the pigeon, you gotta pull down the coop is an old Bajan saying which still holds true, so it's not a surprise that Faye Sealy has been axed from the senior national netball team in favour of an U-16 player who one selector has recently called ' A COMPLETE PLAYER'? This is the same selector who also said that Alwyn Babb knows nothing about  coaching netball. Maybe HE should stick to what HE does best....( NO ONE KNOWS!).

When Miss Sealy was removed from playing  her usual defensive ( GK/GD) area and given the 'nod' as an attacking (GS) player on the England tour...the call was made to Two Sons Funeral Home, the leaflets printed and the spectators were singing the  last song ( It is well with my soul) on the burial site.

It's okay to have the need for new blood on any national team but has the board of the Barbados Netball Association  thought about the decision to include an untried goal shooter for such a major tournament?? Not taking anything from the player who has potential to excel but can she really play the position that she has been selected for? It's not about catching and shooting that's in question but  actually knowing and playing the ROLE that's important!

Another question which should be asked is what happens if the starting goal shooter is injured ( God forbid) before Barbados plays either Trinidad and Tobago or Jamaica. Are we prepared to sacrifice this young lady and hope that she is strong enough to withstand the hardship of these games? Food for thought!

This article isn't about the young lady selected because she didn't select herself and should be commended for allowing her talent to work for her BUT the unfairness that the  BNA  and the board members have again  meted out to a player they  felt should never be on the team.

Congrats to those lucky enough to be selected...
