Whoa betide them!

In what can be considered the first in local netball, a sitting BIG-UP of the governing body has allegedly found it possible to halt or hinder the personal development of an up and coming umpire.

Is this gonna be the norm for umpires or will the Board of the Barbados Netball Association and the Executive of the Barbados Association of Netball Umpires launch an investigation into what has caused this 'pulling of rank'?

Power in the hands of an idiot is a ticking time bomb!  At the moment the selfish actions have prevented this budding umpire from traveling to the regional under 16 competition and it seems unlikely that she will umpire in the 2015 domestic competition. Is this the term of terror by this newly elected board? Is this the way the business of netball will be conducted in Barbados? Well if it is a war against those who have a mind of their own and would call a spade a spade, then I am sending a clear warning. Prepare for a battle and the building in Whitepark Road!

For those who would like to know what has caused this entire fracas..it is nothing more than a FACEBOOK page.

For those wanting to know the name of the page - NETBALL BARBADOS which is different to Netball - Barbados and the World.

This is one of two informative netball pages created by  Barbadians and for a sitting Board member of the Barbados Netball Association and their  superior to use this as a means to nullify the growth of this budding umpire.....PURE VICTIMIZATION!!!!

More questions than answers!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the 2015 Netball World Cup less than seven months away, it is sad, disturbing, shocking and puzzling that we have found ourselves allegedly  cancelling national practice on the premise that there is no team.

We saw this coming and knew it was going to happen yet nothing was done to prevent the bleed.

We have now  sat back and focused on beating the Calypso Girls from Trinidad and Tobago, the Silver Ferns from New Zealand and the Diamonds from Australia similar to how we questioned last year's Commonwealth Games draw and won a solitary game against St Lucia. Thank you St Lucia...you saved our 'faces'!

We have some how forgotten that in order to beat the lowest of the low, the treatment meted out to those chosen to represent us must be seen as fair and unbiased making it easier to relate  to both on and off court.

We must always remember that when a player of a high caliber decides that because of unfair treatment she will no longer be interested in representing her country because of alleged verbal abuse, that speaks volumes. When three or more have the same mindset...that speaks a sacking!

The comfort of a team  is and should be of utmost importance to everyone SELECTED to guide that team into any competition. The fallout therefore from  that team whether it is by  player, coach, assistant coach or manager should be seen as a priority and an investigation carried out.

Less we forget that five players can start a netball game. Shouldn't the Famous Five who comprise the  training squad  be given the trek to Australia if for nothing more than perseverance?

Now we ask ourselves this question. Why is there more questions than answers?
