Heck NO!

As a follow up to an earlier post, the PH St Barnabas has officially informed BANU of their intentions.

I have no problem with them or any club for that matter doing what they think is required because that may be their right but will it improve the fact that NONE of them can COACH? Heck NO!!

Let it be known that I can easily walk away from umpiring or the game of netball....it doesn't define who I am. Can the nasty,simpleminded,CAN'T COACH people who do it on a daily basis do the same? Heck NO!

To the one who had the winning formula from the Banks sponsored company, YOU too fall in the same category and should keep your mouth and lack of knowledge of anything out of matters not concerning YOU.

SOUR milk!

A letter that is being kept in the clutches of the Techincal Director of the milk sponsored church team will soon be emailed, mailed or hand delivered to the Barbados Netball Association.

Apparently said individual is of the opinion that yours truly shouldn't be allowed to umpire any more games when her charges are playing. While any decision made on this matter can only be made by the Barbados Association of Netball Umpires ( BANU) and not by any club, I will ask the following:

Will it make YOU a better coach?

Will it give YOU the ability to write YOUR OWN coaching programme if given the chance to coach at the national level again?

Will it give YOU the ability to understand such a programme when it has been written as simple as ABC?

Will it make YOU a better individual and not the moron that YOU are?

If my not umpiring will assist YOU in any way possible, then I will quit umpiring immediately.

Ooops! I guess with God's help,I'm gonna be umpiring a little longer.

Only YOU!

With the advent of Mrs Always Scrooge to the top tier position of the local national team, the inability to coach the best has caused her to target my umpiring as a reason for any imminent failure.

That being said,Mrs Always 'pregnant' Scrooge, the responsibilty of the national team to perform begins and ends with YOU!! This is the time for you to officially bury the team and allow the burial rites to be read. Only YOU can nullify in one swoop that which had worked in the past. Only YOU with all your netball knowledge ( which is very prehistoric and archaic) would tell a team that their fitness is up to them. Only YOU would sit in a box with a bunch of ingrates and OPENLY criticize arguably the BEST shooter on that team.

Need I say that you were also an umpire who FAILED at the only attempt given to you when you wanted to be an IUA? Only YOU who knew so much then and still knew very LITTLE.

Before I forget, it was YOU who recently tanked when YOU couldn't lead a simple club team in a local knock-out game against a team with little experience while YOURS had all kinds . Was that a hint of England in April? Hmmmmm!

Letter to the Secretary

Dear Madam Secretary,

As a matter of principle, resigning from your position of Secretary of the Barbados Netball Association might be the right thing for you to do at this time.

It is common knowledge that in any organisation,the position of secretary is critical to all decisions made which makes it the pulse of that organisation. Somehow it seems the opposite in the BNA.

When you resigned a previous position some years ago, it was felt that you couldn't 'work' with the then president for professional and other reasons. Has that changed?

In an organisation that seems to be run by Imelda Marcos, you are as silent and quiet as a store bought pair of LAND shoes.

While time is longer than twine, don't let yourself be caught up in the scandal that is sure to unfold after Imelda goes to Primart on the premise of a Goodwill netball tour to England.

Netball vs Volleyball...Barbados v COW Rangers

The Board of the Barbados Netball Association has again showed it's disrespect for netballers in Barbados by 'agreeing' to the 'nomination' of a NON-netballer for the past four years as the recipient of a Certificate of Recognition from the Barbados Olympic Association.

What makes it more interesting is that said netballer's name was only briefly mentioned for the award but not agreed on.

An article carried in the Barbados Advocate( 10-03-12) states that the award has been given to women who has shown a "tireless commitment to their chosen sport". For those who don't know, this young lady's chosen sport is volleyball.

It should be noted that 2008 was the last year this netballer donned national gear or played any domestic netball prior to playing in the 2011 Barbados Workers' Union out of season competition as she was studying in the US...the recipient of a volleyball scholarship.

To the BNA I ask this question...What about the young women who have come through ALL the national teams and have represented Barbados with merit? Players like Samantha Browne,Damisha Croney,Janiece Clarke easily come to mind. What's even worst is that the players mentioned are all younger than the recipient.

I do not in any way blame the volleyballer for accepting an award which should rightfully be given to a netballer. She didn't nominate herself!

All blame should be meted out to a board with little or no commonsense who has again allowed themselves to look like spineless lackeys by an individual whose only interest in the game seems to be ADVANTAGE miles.

In the land of the blind.........the one-eyed woman really is queen.

Bunch of ish!

Less than a month under a new coaching regime, a heap of LAVATORY MATTER has been dumped on the country of Barbados by the Barbados Netball Association.

Beginning on Monday ( March 5th ) and culminating tonight ( March 7th), some of the 'best' netballers were 'invited' to trial games in an attempt to find the 'lucky' twelve to represent Barbados in the upcoming three test (Good will) series in England ( April 10-14).

Shockingly but NOT surprisingly one of the earliest casualties from this bundle of horse mess is the daughter of a former ace defender who herself was unceremoniously dumped. What makes this situation even more disgusting is that several players who the trio of SEE no evil, HEAR no evil and SPEAK no evil have retained did not participate in the first two nights of games. Hmmmmm!

Anyone who knows the grinch knows that to defy her is never tolerated and axing one of the best netballers in the island might have been satisfaction for her from since 2006.

It would be remiss not to blame the Barbados Netball Association for buying into the idea that the midas touch has finally been found. How the hell is it possible to prepare any world class team to perform at that level in four weeks?

Do they not know that we are ranked ninth in the world and hold that position by a mere ten points?

It would take a miracle ( do they happen?) to beat England next month but it wouldn't take an Einstein to tell us that the numbers that come after nine are from ten and down.

EDUCATION isn't COMMONSENSE and apparently some people or one individual has been blessed with NONE!
