The time is now !

The Barbados Netball Association can make history very soon if the lone male applicant for the post of senior national coach is successful.

Today's daily Nation Newspaper( October 28) revealed that renowned track coach Alwyn Babb is that applicant and will be up against some sterling opposition.

What is interesting is that Babb ( as we all call him) was the 'head trainer designate' of the senior team in 2008 - 2009 and brings with him a wealth of netball knowledge which should serve him well. What he also has in his favour is the ability to make something happen, can easily MOTIVATE and isn't afraid to take chances.

Is this a personal endorsement of my coaching partner?? HELL YEAH !!

Do I think he has the qualities of a great coach?? U BETCHA!!

Will the BNA make the right decision?? Hmmmm.......................

Not ur bizness !!

My decision to cancel the appeal against the Barbados Netball Association is nobody's business but mine. Not my family. Not my friends and certainly not the malicious simple-minded people who make up the sport of netball.

I have always known that my 'ban' was welcomed by those people who came to me,would laugh with me and also 'agreed' that the BNA was wrong for what they had done. I have always felt that these same people were just like the postal workers in Canada and the USA - will work through any season. I have also always known that like Christmas( comes every year) these people are seasonal.

I have said all the above to say this. MY decision to halt the legal process has nothing to do with the fact that I have 'applied' for the position of senior national Coach of the Barbados national team. When those evil minded selfish bandits learn to deal with the fact that they are in-competent as coaches and learn to mind their own business, maybe we will see an improvement in netball.

Obviously the bandits aren't only in the coaching pool. They are also administrators of the sport. Oops, did I say administrators?? I actually meant WANNA-BES.

In the end I AM COMFORTABLE!

IT WAS MY BUSINESS !!! Don't make it YOURS !!

Clean up !!

Any dog that goes back to it's vomit after it is cleaned up is still very much a dog.

We can put pigs in silk stockings and it's still a pig.

We can take a cow to a pond but getting it to drink is another story.

My word to the person who wants more than the cleaning of a beach is this. If you and your lackies didn't start the infestion, the NEED to do excessive cleaning would be minimal.

I did it !

In an earlier post I made it clear that I have no real interest in netball in Barbados anymore. As a result of this I made a conscious decision recently regarding the legal matter between the BNA and myself.

When the 'ban' was imposed in 2006, none of my fellow floor members 'knew' nothing about the decision made. ACCORDING TO THEM !

As it is now I am having the last laugh at the misery all of them are having. Who can't get the position they WANT,have had to GIVE up the one they NEEDED.

Did my non-involvement cause these things to happen? Or were the selfishness of these people the reason?

When the insanity of the Executive Committee( 2006) was made public, the powers that be were adamant that corporate Barbados was unwilling to give money or sponsorship to them because of my decision to go public. Now that I have done what has been done, will the BNA be given what they think they deserve ?

I DID IT or DID I ??

PEU

What ever became of the Performance Enhancement Unit ( PEU) that was formed on 30-09-08?

On this date a little over a year ago,the Barbados Netball Association announced the formation of this programme which was supposed to be a national plan to govern all aspects of the sport from the developmental stage through to the senior team.

Ironically the head trainer assigned this job is also one of the applicants for the vacated position of head coach of the national senior team. HMMMM!!! Am I to assume that if HE gets the coaching position the PEU will FINALLY begin or will he do what he does best ( write workouts, programmes, etc for others) and release that responsibility?

Several years ago , a similar need was acknowledged and with this in mind, the High Performance Development Programme ( HPDP) was formed. Once the proposal was accepted by the BNA, the 'powers-that-be' in the form of selfish liars swept in and made a 'claim'. After a few years, the HPDP came to a standstill.

Will the PEU get a chance to start? Hopefully now that the 'powers-that-be ' aren't around it will.
