Never have there been a male as head coach of any national netball team in Barbados but that may soon change.
When the BNA recently advertised the vacancy for HEAD COACH of the senior national team,I convinced ( haha) my co-coach in Spooners Hill,Mr.Alwyn Babb to apply for the position. Initially he balked at the idea but after careful consideration and a lot of soul searching,HE DID.
Let's fast forward and assume that my friend is the coach. Will we get greater attendance to national training at the senior level? Will he choose one of the old stalwarts as his deputy?
I do not know and do not care how many other people applied because I know that my friend met all the qualifications and can certainly get the job done if he's successful.
Obama did it and now it's about to happen here. This is a time for change.
This blog has been created with the intention of raising questions about the state of netball in Barbados. Any names mentioned will be of people who are involved in the sport and all situations will be real.

Something happening
People in positions of authority can either be useful, users or just plain dumb.In this case I think the ones I refer to are the latter.
What does it matter if a club displays aggressive behaviour when one of their own is axed from national trials? What can said club do when that decision is made?
Being a leader is about making decisions and if that can't been done when necessary, then the person in that leadership role should be axed. PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!
As RPB said," Something happening...................................
Wait and see.

Should I??
If you care about a sport, then it stands to reason that you will want to know as much as possible about that particular sport. As usual I will go to the IFNA website everyday to see what is going on in the "outer" world of netball.
It seems as though the Board of the BNA and I have the same thought process. Prominently displayed on the homepage of the IFNA website is the Barbados flag, next to the flag are the recently 'vacated' coaching positions for an U-16 and Senior coach being advertised.
Does the BNA have enough money to pay a foreign coach? Will that person if successful be given room and board? If the successful coach is locally based, will they be treated the same as a foreign coach?
Finally, will the BNA have enough money to even pay a per diem after the "aggrieved" former management team returns from Crumpton Street?
Can they pay me if I apply? Should I apply? I am not really in the mood but it'll be interesting to know how people feel.
